Just how "wicked" was "WICKED?"

TOTALLY INSANELY WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not believe I forgot to post about this little date. This is what Marko gave me as an annualversary gift. We finally attended the long awaited musical.....and this is how I felt about it....

Life is one continual party.....

...if you are a Tew. Oh Booya! Life visiting the Tripp Family was grand. We tried to squeeze in as many Christmas adventures as possible. One adventure that we relived several times was having game night. Now that we have played Cities and Knights we are pretty much hooked. Check out this insano concentration on my face, seriously.
This deserves a shout out to the men folk for receiving the most creative, innovative, and structurally sound gingerbread houses of 2009. Check out the skills of my husband....putting fresh ground salt as snow on the roof? I mean, really, how does he come up with these things? And, you should have seen what pieces he started out with. It looked more like an outhouse on the actual box to use for a guide, but no outhouse here for Mr. Tew. Home of Santa and Mrs. Claus:
Adventure #497: Making Gingerbread men, women, baby men, baby women, stars, bells, etc. etc. I believe this was my first time making gingerbread cookies. Talk about delicious! Plus, I had the best assistant by my side throughout the process.
I must sneak this in the post....shh...I don't know how "sane" the husband thinks I am for doing this but we (the girls, of course) went on adventures to Target an average of probably every other day and bought many festive shirts on several different occasions :)

What brings in the Christmas spirit more than a Mexican Fiesta of fresh guacamole, rice, and enchiladas displayed strategically in the Mexican Flag arrangement????? Nothing! They knew what they were doing when they chose Christmas colors for that flag. Awwwwwww...here we are by the fancy Nancy setup. We broke out the real candles and everything. That was one tasty Christmastime din din.
Feliz Navidad, Amigos!!!

There was an infinite amount of parties and adventures in San Antone and who did we share the good times with???? These lovely folks....... (plus Austin) Thank you Trippers and let the good times roll!

Forgot to Blog About it!

Hi Folks! I forgot to blog about some other fun October stuff that we did. We participated in our first Kansas Corn Maze. It was pretty darn good. They also had a tepee made of corn, a corn pit for little kids to play in, teatherball and basketball courts, and much more! I convinced Mark to get on the blow up toys, one of my favorite things in the world. We had to take a pic on the GIANT chair. This little kid was on it and didn't want to get off so we told him to smile for the camera...enjoy. :)

I didn't get great pics, but here are some of when we visited Scott and Kels in Tucson. These are from our hike. We had to practice our yoga before we got going :) We had a great time with them!!!

A Spooktacular Halloween

This past week, Mark had a training in DC and I took a trip to Texas! Wahoo!
Many exciting things happened in Texas. I don't know if I could even choose a favorite. I started to type about what we did in order, but I keep getting the days mixed up, so here's a little list of some Spooktacular Halloween Events in no particular order:

1. Costume parade at Lu Lu's school. She dressed up as "fries" with a ketchup bag. I thought it was the cutest costume there! These little munchkins were good kids at the parade. One of them couldn't keep out of the sand on the playground!
2. Play group party-- we made some spooky bowling pins out of pop bottles
3. Playing the hairdresser with Lucy. First her, then me, then her again. :)
4. Sea World Halloween Fest
5. YW night with the sis. I made several magnets and took them all home!
6. Many delicious meals. We devoured pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. On Halloween, we ate "mummy pizzas"

7. Face Painting time-- just for fun.

8. Watched a chick flick (While you Were Sleeping) and two musicals (Singing in the Rain and Fiddler on the Roof), love it!
9. Dance Class --dress up day (that's what the hair dresser outfit was for)
10. Carving pumpkins
11. Hanging out with some of my favorite people in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fries, hot dog, and burger!

Here are a few pictures from Mark's trip. Mostly, he was working hard but found time one night to see some cool things.

Mark enjoys his job so they say
Lacey is still job hunting today

We now live with lady who
Let's us live in her basement, foo' (short for fool...learned that one in the south)

We ARE alive!!!

We are safe and sound in our new town. We found a sweet lady who is renting her basement to us until we find either a house or something to rent longer term. However, she doesn't have the internet...how did I EVER survive without it?????? I can't believe how much we rely on the internet until we try going without it for a few days. We make trips to the library a couple times a week to do our business. (side note--she DOES have TV...all of the channels I love...HGTV, Food Network, TLC, etc...heaven)

Mark is enjoying his job as a real businessman! More updates to come.

You might be a redneck if.....

...you eat footlong corndogs at your hometown's county fair.(notice the array of southern cuisine...mmm mmm good)

...you ride this bad boy to work
...your idea of some goooood cookin' is crawdads or alligator on a stick (things on sticks always taste better, right?)(this is our friend and he thought the fried gator stick was pretty tasty and worth trying, just in case the reader is interested)

...you buy this type of hot vehicle for your wife to drive.

...you are a 3 time defending champion at lawnmower racing!

(or you watch the three time defending champion and yell "ready...set...mow!!!")

If you aren't a redneck and you do/did these things, then I guess you are just hard core :)

Ok, Ok, we need some explanation...the Tews have officially experienced their first Watermelon Festival in Hope, Arkansas (birthplace of big Bill C.) Mark played in an all night softball tournament and we experienced the "hardcore/redneck" festivities as explained above. It was really fun!!! I can't believe we missed out last year. We even came home with a juicy, delicious watermelon!!!
