Magnificent Visit from Mom

Hello out there! I know I haven't posted in a long time. I took a vacation from blogging, but I think I'm back, at least for this week. Speaking of vacation, I'm on the countdown for the day school gets out and summer break begins. Yahoo!!!!!!!! (not the website...the exclamation). hee hee.

Two words can adequately describe the visit that I received from my sweet mommy last weekend.....

We really had a great time together! I know that most of you out there think your mom is the best in the world...hate to break it to you...WRONGO (what movie?). I, in fact, have the best mom in the universe! I love her dearly and am glad that we can laugh, play, shop, work, and talk for hours on end while loving every minute of it!

She helped me pick out and plant some flowers and a mini- vegetable garden too. This was a fun project to do together and it was nice to have another opinion on where and what to plant. (Mom--Yes, I have been watering and yes, all plants are still living)

ToTo's Tacos. I have been wanting to try this place out. It was good!
Recommended to all Kansans and visitors alike.

Crafting away. Doesn't she just have the cutest little face you've ever seen!? We made cute magnets and mother was reminded of her inner passion for the Science of magnetism. :)

The last hoo-rah at Orange Leaf frozen yogurt. (In case you're wondering, it's a place that makes you feel okay about eating your treat because they claim that it's "healthy" and charge enough to make you think it's "organic" or something. Whatever. It tastes good. That's good enough for me.)

THANK YOU MOTHER FOR COMING AND FOR BEING THE WORLD'S BEST!

March

I've decided that March is the BEST month of the year. This is true for various reasons:

1. March Madness-college basketball, buzzer beaters, upsets, and trash talk. mmm hmm.

2. Spring Time-warmer temperatures and blossoms.

3. Spring Break- A week off of work...need I say more?

4. Birthday Time!!! Yay! I love to celebrate!

I just love March. I hope you love it too!

2010: Yet again a fantastic year for the Tews!

2 jobs that we enjoy. Mark works at Fort Riley doing strategic planning right now. He is fortunate to have great people who train him in his new assignment. Lacey is an elementary Math teacher who also has wonderful mentors and friends at school. We are thankful to have good places to work!

0 degrees or below in our lovely Manhattan, Kansas. We truly do enjoy living here {even with the Midwest freezing winter}. We have met absolutely wonderful people here at work, church, and around town. We have learned there are great people to get to know no matter where you are!

1 garden that produced many delicious vegetables. We were able to make jam, cucumbers, salsa, and eat fresh veggies throughout the season. It has been a joy to learn a new hobby together and to see the miracle of nature right before our eyes.

0 reasons to complain. We are thankful for the gift of our Savior. We are thankful for our family and friends. May you be blessed with His peace and love this Christmas Season!

Deck the Halls....

I have been waiting for these moments ALL YEAR LONG. Seriously. Mark can attest to the fact that he probably can't count the number of times he has heard "I can't wait until I can decorate for Christmas!" throughout this year.
Hallelujah! The time finally came. :)

Happy Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving time! I love how it gives me a chance to remember all of my many blessings. I love that there are fun fall time activities to do at school. I also L-O-V-E pie!!!!!!!!!!
This year we had fun with our fall time activities.
Our "I am thankful for..." turkey. We added a feather each day. We are so very blessed!

We cooked up our first ever turkey this year! Yay...it turned out DELICIOUS!

I forgot to post about this---our "Orange Dinner" around Halloween time. (Those are eggs if you are wondering).

We were able to spend T-Giving with Mark's brothers and their families in Texas. We had such a fantastic time and are grateful that we have a wonderful and fun family! Shout out to Jeff and Heather-THANK YOU!!!!! Um...now I'm wondering, why didn't I get some better photos of everybody???? Scott and Kels are barely represented. Look for them in the croquet pic. We love you too, don't worry!
Right before the big feast...notice the workers in the back ground creating the delicious food.

Heather and the kiddos made these cute name tags and turkey napkin rings. Love it!

After the big feast....

Tew Gathering=Croquet.

Hope to see you again soon J, H, P, A, S and K!!!!!!!!

Benj

My little brother Benji, who is serving an LDS mission in Peru, was stabbed by a robber last Sunday. He is okay and expected to have a full recovery. Most of the Grantsville people already know, but I thought I would just thank everybody for the support and prayers in our family's behalf and inform other friends about the incident.

Here is a link to text and the news report on TV that explains pretty accurately what happened.

Thanks again for prayers for Elder Benjamin Cole!

A Glimpse of My Job...

I love to see these cute smiling faces each day. The pics show some Halloween/Math activities we did this year: Pumpkins and measurement, "Monster Numbers", and a jack-o-lantern addition and shapes game.
