Home Sweet Home

Visiting home sweet home was such a pleasure!!!! It seems like no matter how long we stay, the time always goes by too quick. Most likely it's due to the fact that we always have a blast doing things with our family and friends. This vacation was full of enjoyment!!!First thing we did was attend the Bees Game and stayed at Little America. We went swimming and saw a very small percentage of the Days of 47 Parade the next morning (we saw a float, horses, one marching band, and a few fancy cars and the parade was over. "repeat that about 100 times, and you have the Days of 47 Parade" --quote by Geo)
We then went to the big GUNDI reunion in Heber. Three words might be able to sum it up. Food. Family. and Fun. At the reunion we always partake of delicious meals, are surrounded by roughly 120 family members, and enjoy each other as we play sports, chat, and have a program consisting of singing, dancing, and a little competition. This year my mom was in charge and she did a fantastic job planning the whole thing. We stayed in cabins with about 8 bunkbeds in each. We participated in challenge courses which were fun and also went down to the lake for some volleyball and canoes. It was a great time. Good luck to all Gundys next year on the volleyball court...Coles came out champs this year. :)
We met up with Mark's side of the fam in Alpine at his cousin's home after the reunion. Mark along with his brother, cousin, and dad thoroughly enjoyed playing RISK until the wee hours of the morning. They played for hours and enjoyed it!!! Yay for boys who play Risk while I play Guess Who and Pictionary with the girl cousins. :) Above you see the boys taking a tour of the Church History Library downtown SLC. We went to the Oquirrh Mtn. Temple open house while we were there too.
The enjoyment continued for a short time for Mark, he had to come back to real life but I was able to stay some extra days. During that time, we went to Provo Canyon and enjoyed some time with my dad's side at the Covey Cabin. More food, family and fun. Participating in our annual tennis tourney and hot tub relaxation was great. We also added some new traditions of horseshoes and tether-ball. One night we even watched a chick flick, Somewhere In Time, I couldn't help but chuckle almost the whole way through. oops. Might have ruined it for everyone else. Pretty sappy stuff. Anyway, it was yet another wonderful weekend.
We celebrated mom's b-day and I traveled to Logan for an overnighter that Sunday. I made a visit to Brother Needham because my diamond is cracked...I know...it's bizarre.

I finished the vacation off with a BANG by participating in the first annual PRINCESS TEA PARTY with all of the girl cousins. We even had teacups and everything.

WHAT A VACATION!!!!!

Chicas

Here in Texarkana, we have met some wonderful, awesome, incredible people. Among these include the darling Young Women in our Ward at church. I have been a leader for a while now and I realized the other day randomly how much these sweet girls mean to me. They are great examples and are just good girls through and through. We have had some fun times together each Sunday and Wednesday. We had a big "P" Party Sleepover as soon as summer arrived. We worked on "Personal Progress" and did pedicures. We also wore pink, purple, polka dots, pajamas, plaid or anything else we could think of starting with P. We ate pizza, pop, parfaits, and popcorn. It was a darn good time!!!

A couple of weeks ago, we had a weekend of fun for Youth Conference in Louisiana. This is a pic of some girls in the stake. It's always fun when the girls from our area can meet new friends and just hang out!!!

What cute chicas!!!!!!

We love the FAMILY VISITS!!!

Our dear family drove all the way from West Texas to see us on the East side!!! We had a fabulous time with them. The little man, Parker, loved searching for golf balls the most. I think he went on a few walks every day to search for them. He ended up with over 20!!!!! Since he found the most, he was the big winner and received a popsicle as the prize.

On Saturday, the males did their male thing and went golfing while the females enjoyed a shopping trip to the mall. We also went swimming (well, almost). The water was a little cold so the macho men got in while the ladies lounged around outside of the cold water. We tried Big Jakes for the first time for dinner. Texas BBQ...mmm...mmmm.

Our visitors also enjoyed church on Sunday with the big pot luck dinner following. We played Cash Flow late Friday and Sunday nights as well. This is a pic of the morning breakfast after the late night..... looks like the sweet little baby is the only one who is wide-eyed and ready for the day :)
THANK YOU TEWS FOR COMING TO VISIT!!!!!
WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH YOU!!!

Mark has been playing in softball tournaments the past couple of Saturdays. I think he may have forgotten how much he loves to play! He has really been enjoying it! I haven't taken any good pictures of him yet. The past two Saturdays, the tournaments have been canceled in the afternoon due to tornado warnings and fierce rain storms. The weather has been crazy lately! However, he did manage to crank a homer!!! YAY!
